I have done something quite interesting today. I have bought shares in Dawnay Day Carpathian, the find which invests quite a lot in commercial property especially in the Czech Rep, Slovakia Poland Rumania and Bulgaria.
The shares have been down because of generl negative sentiment to the property sector and also the parent company have had some problems. But the dividend i something like 16% and also the value of the assetts should be appreciating firstly because the assetts are not especially affected by the UK_US credit crunch and also the weakness of sterling against the Kcs, zl etc should bolster the fund value , already at a high discount to net assetts!
