As of July 1st 2009 the Polish Financial Supervisory Commission has introduced new recommendations whereby mortgage loan borrowers are allowed to lodge the request to repay their mortgage loans in the indexing currency of the loan.

In plain english this means that if you have a CHF mortgage & you are currently making monthly repayments in PLN , you can now request that your monthly repayment is switched to CHF.

According to estimations in 2008 profit of up to PLN 100m was made due to exchange rate fixing .

Thanks cc - thats good news.

They used an incredibly unfavourable (to me) rate when they converted the mortgage from pln to chf further compounded by the decline of the pln.... in monetary terms my mortgage balance has increased by more than 30 percent.

Thanx in advance
